Presenters: Tom & Marilyn Wickenheiser Tom and Marilyn are both retired teachers from Shaunavon, Saskatchewan. Now living in Calgary, Hayley’s parents instilled a love of sport and exercise in their children at an early age by ensuring physical activity was seen as play time. On weekends, the family would use the school gym to play games and in the winter Tom would work for hours ensuring the outdoor rink was in prime condition. Both Tom and Marilyn have played roles in the development of the female game, Tom as a minor hockey coach in the female program and Marilyn as part owner of the Shooting Star Hockey School in Stettler, Alberta, which was at the time the largest female hockey school in Canada. Marilyn also worked for Girls Hockey Calgary and Hockey Alberta in their female hockey development programs.
